Breathwork in Zandvoort

Breathwork is not a trend and not therapy. It is a focused way of using your breath to shift something that is hard to grasp in words. In Zandvoort I guide sessions of 75 to 90 minutes, close to the sea, in English or Dutch, for people who are stuck in stress, tension or a pattern they no longer want. You do not need any experience. You only need to be willing to see what is possible.

What breathwork is and who it works for

Breathwork is a conscious breathing technique in which you breathe actively and rhythmically for a longer period, often following a specific pattern of in- and out-breaths. That sounds simple. What can happen during such a session is less so: tension you have carried for a long time, emotions you push away or a constant state of alertness begin to move. Not because you think about it, but because your body gets the room to respond.

Who does this work for? For people who notice they are always 'on' and do not really know how to switch that off. For people who live a lot in their heads and feel little. For people who have been through a difficult period and want to process it. And also for people who are simply curious about what is possible when you take your breath seriously. You do not need a spiritual background or an interest in wellness. You only need to be willing to try something that works differently from talking.

More about the technique and the scientific background can be found on the page about the method behind breathwork.

How a breathwork session in Zandvoort goes

A session takes 75 to 90 minutes. We start with a short conversation: what brings you here, what is going on for you right now, what do you want to achieve or let go of. That is not an intake in the clinical sense. It is a way to land and to give me a picture of where you are now.

Then you lie down, on a mat, with a blanket if you like. I guide you through a breathing pattern tuned to what is needed. That pattern asks for active effort from you, but there is nothing you can do 'right' or 'wrong'. I am present throughout the session; I watch, I adjust where needed and I keep the space safe. After the active part comes a period of stillness and integration. We close with a short conversation about what you experienced and what you take with you.

Every session is different. Some people experience deep relaxation. Others come into contact with emotions or memories they had been putting off for a while. Whatever comes up, you are not alone and you set your own limits.

Why Zandvoort: the sea, the dunes, the calm afterwards

Zandvoort is not a random choice. Being close to the sea and the dunes does something to people, even before the session begins. The surroundings are calmer than a city, the air is different, and there is room to walk or sit for a while after the session without falling straight back into the bustle. That is not a detail. What you process during a breathwork session needs room to land. That room is here.

After a session I always advise people not to jump straight into the car towards their next appointment. Take fifteen minutes. Walk to the beach. Sit on the dune. Let it settle. The effect of a good breathing session often continues in the hours afterwards, and those who respect that process get more out of it.

What carries on after the session through daily guidance

A 75-minute session is a beginning, not an end point. What starts moving during breathwork, you also want to hold on to outside the session room. That is why every programme offers the option of daily guidance via WhatsApp. Every day you get a short check-in, a breathing exercise or an observation to work with. It takes five to ten minutes a day, but the difference in effect is considerable. This daily guidance is given by Ada, who only speaks Dutch for now, but will be speaking English soon.

People who only do sessions and nothing else notice improvement. People who also work consciously on their breath in between notice the changes stick. That is not a sales pitch; it is what I see in practice. The full offer and the options for daily guidance are described on the offer page with prices and programmes.

What a breathwork session in Zandvoort costs

A 1‑on‑1 session costs 149 euros. That includes a twenty-minute online intake, 75 to 90 minutes of breathwork and the conversation afterwards. If you want to keep practising daily afterwards, Ada guides you via WhatsApp for 19 euros a month. With Ada Intensive you also get a 1‑on‑1 session every month, for 129 euros a month. What is included in each option can be found on the offer page.

I work by appointment. There is no months-long waiting list, but I deliberately keep a limited number of places per week so I can keep the guidance good. Book a session directly to see the available times, or get in touch via the contact form.

Breathwork for teams and on location

Breathwork also works in a group. I guide sessions for teams of four to twelve people, on location at your company or at an external venue in or around Zandvoort. A team session usually takes two hours and combines a short explanation of how breath and the nervous system work with a shared breathing session and a debrief.

Teams who do a breathwork session together notice something change in how people relate to each other. Not because they are suddenly best friends, but because they have shared something that goes beyond a meeting or a team outing. A different openness emerges. That has an effect on collaboration, on trust and on how people deal with pressure. Interested in a session for your team? Get in touch for the options and a tailored proposal.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between breathwork and ordinary breathing exercises?

Ordinary breathing exercises are short techniques you use in a moment of stress, such as breathing out more slowly to calm down. Breathwork is a longer, intensive session in which you breathe actively for 45 to 60 minutes following a specific pattern. That has a deeper effect on your nervous system and can release emotions or tension that shorter exercises do not reach.

Where in Zandvoort does a breathwork session take place?

Sessions take place in a quiet practice room in Zandvoort, close to the beach and the dunes. You receive the exact address after booking an appointment. On request, a session can also be guided at another location.

Do I need breathwork experience to start?

No. Most people who come to me have never done a breathwork session. Before the session I explain what you can expect and I tune the breathing pattern to what suits you. Experience is not needed, only the willingness to try something.
