A few minutes to yourself, or two hours with me alongside. At your desk, on the train, or in a room in the Zandvoort area. I am Sjoerd Righolt, and I run sessions in English, also in Haarlem and Amsterdam.
Most people who come to me are not looking for calm as an idea. They are tired, they sleep badly, or they notice they are running on a kind of low alarm all day and cannot switch it off in the evening.
Breathing is the one part of that system you can steer on purpose. Slow your breath down and lengthen the out-breath, and your heart rate follows. That is not a trick, it is how the nerve that runs from your brain to your organs works. You can learn to use it, and it takes minutes rather than months.
What I do is teach you that, in your own words and for your own day. You keep your own vocabulary for it, and you can judge it on whether it works by Tuesday.
A session of around 90 minutes, in person. We look at how you breathe now, what your day asks of you, and which two or three things are worth practising. You leave with something you can actually do, not a printout.
In Zandvoort, Haarlem or Amsterdam, or at your place in consultation.
Every third Sunday of the month at Yoga club FORM in Amsterdam West, together with Nadia of Wylde Roots. Two and a half hours of connected breathing, lying down, with time afterwards to let it settle. All levels, no experience needed.
Next edition: Sunday 20 September. In the FORM schedule it is listed as FORM Workshop Breathwork.
A guided session for your team, on location. In the Netherlands this also counts as a recognised measure against work-related stress, which matters if you have to account for it. Practical, and it fits inside a working day.
Ask me for a proposal and I will send one in English.
The daily coaching over WhatsApp and the online practice room with its eighty exercises are written in Dutch, and translating them properly is a bigger job than swapping the words. So for now I would rather tell you straight than sell you something you cannot use.
Everything that happens in a room with me can be in English: the one-on-one sessions, the breath circle, the work with teams. If the English side grows, the rest will follow.
People write their reviews in their own language, so the ones on Google are in Dutch. They are real and they are public, and your browser will translate them in a click.
Tell me roughly what is going on and what you are hoping for, and I will tell you honestly whether I can help. No intake form, no funnel.
Based in Zandvoort, on the coast just west of Haarlem. Amsterdam is half an hour away.
